High School Treble Choir Clinician

2025-26

Taryn Gervais
Taryn Gervais is a dynamic conductor, clinician, and creative artist based in Kansas City. She currently serves as an adjunct professor of aural skills, voice, and cello at Kansas City Kansas Community College and leads a thriving private studio through her business, GervaisCreative, where she teaches, composes, and arranges music.

Taryn is a sought-after clinician, having led middle and high school honor choirs across the state of Missouri. She is known for her inclusive leadership, expressive musicianship, and ability to create meaningful musical experiences for students of all backgrounds. A multi-instrumentalist and versatile performer, Taryn is comfortable in any ensemble setting—having played in jazz bands, orchestras, and contemporary music groups alike.

During her tenure as Director of Choirs at Blue Valley Southwest High School, she founded the Trebleaires, a pioneering SSAA vocal jazz ensemble—the first of its kind in the Kansas City area. Under her direction, the Trebleaires were selected to perform at both the Kansas Music Educators Association (KMEA) In-Service Workshop and the Jazz Education Network (JEN) Conference, earning statewide and national recognition.

At the heart of Taryn's work is a deep belief in equity, empowerment, and the transformative power of music. She strives to create ensemble spaces where every singer feels seen, supported, and inspired to grow—not only as musicians, but as people.
