Dylan Moore
Dylan Moore is the 5-12 Grade Band/Choral/Theatre Director and Assistant-Principal at Dexter Schools USD-471 in Dexter, Kansas. He holds Bachelor's of Music Degrees in Music Education and Vocal Music Performance with a Minor in Leadership Studies, as well as a Master's of Science Degree in Nonprofit Organizational Leadership from Southwestern College.
During his collegiate career he served as the Director of the Community Music School at Southwestern College, hiring and training future music educators through lessons teaching and community events which promoted music and the arts within the local community. In addition to his curricular studies, he also had the opportunity to work professionally as a Young Artist with Wichita Grand Opera, where he received his stage debut as Nepomuc in Offenbach's The Grand Duchess in 2015. He was selected as a Teacher of Promise in 2014.
During his tenure at Dexter Schools, secondary level participation has increased from 39 to 74 students in 2023. He added the district's first fully-staged musical production in 2019 and has continued to function as the production's director, musical director, choreographer, and technical director for each subsequent year. Mr. Moore also created the theatrical/drama department for Dexter Schools in 2021, which has now offered 7 one-act performances to the community. His soloists and ensembles receive consistently high ratings at league, regional, and state festivals. In 2022, Mr. Moore was selected as a Kansas Governor's Scholars Award Program Teacher of Influence, an award bestowed upon a teacher by their student for their contribution to the student's educational path and development.
