Membership Requirement
For a student to participate in KMEA honor groups the sponsoring teacher must be an active member of the Kansas Music Educators Association.

Patti Sweet
Patti Sweet is a retired instrumental music teacher. She taught 37 years, 32 of those years in the Wichita Public Schools. She received her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Wichita State University and began her teaching career in Oklahoma. For 12 years, Mrs. Sweet was a director with the Wichita Wind Ensemble Organization. Under her direction, the WWE Youth band performed twice at the Kansas Music Educators Association’s convention and the Intermediate band made an appearance in 2008. While teaching at Wichita-Robinson Middle School, the 8th grade band performed at the 2018 Kansas Music Educators Association Convention. In retirement, Mrs. Sweet is very active in the music ministry at her church and is an active adjudicator and clinician in south central Kansas.
