Donald Gray
Donald L. Gray completed his Bachelor of Music Education degree at Wichita State University and began teaching elementary vocal music in USD-259 Wichita Public Schools. Postgraduate studies include a Master of Education degree from Baker University along with ESOL Certification and Kodály Certification from WSU. During his tenure as a vocal music teacher, Don directed district Area and All-City Honor Choirs, presented numerous workshops/clinics and served on various district committees including textbook selection and the District Curriculum Design for Standards Referenced Grading (K-8). After 18 years in the elementary vocal music classroom, Don accepted the position of Vocal Music Curriculum Coach for Wichita Public Schools serving is this capacity for seven years before returning to the classroom and completing his tenure at Christa McAuliffe Academy (K-8) retiring in May 2021 after 34 years of service. Don currently serves as the director of the Downtown Alive Choir at First United Methodist Church, Wichita, KS.
